crazy weekend

Yes, so, interesting weekend. Spent it with my dad and Pam. Got a few comments on how to act from my dad, that pissed me off. Oh yea, and by my dad and Pam, I mean my dad, Pam, Justine, and Pam's entire extended family. They were all very nice tho, it was just a bit weird. Her mother is a really good cook.

Friday: There was a dinner at Pam's mother's house. All relatives were there. Food was good. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Saturday: Saw the Queen Mary. The ship itself was a little disappointing but I loved the Titanic exhibit. Most of you didn't know me way back when but for quite some time (before the movie) I was obsessed with the Titanic. I used to read every book I could get my hands on on the subject. I still love learning about the Titanic so it was cool. Best part was the engine room of the Queen Mary. I was so tempted to stray from the area where you're supposed to walk and og around the whole thing.

Saturday night: We went to this Spanish restaurant called Sevilla in Long Beach and they had these Flamenco dancers there. It was a dinner and a show type thing. Flamenco is awesome, although I've only taken one class. So at the end of the show they were asking for volunteers to dance. Of course our entire table (13 since it was the whole family again) points at me. So yes, I danced on stage with the super awesome dancer dude that night. It was awesome. Then the restaurant turned into this awesome club, but of course Justine and I did not get there in a seperate car. So sadly, we went home.

Sunday: Catalina Island! Went to Catalina for the second annual trip, and of course held the tradition of not putting sunscreen on while there. Went biking around the island a bit, lots of exercise. Justine walked into a cactus thinking that she wouldn't get pricked. No idea where that logic came from. It's so pretty there. I love it. Went to a candy shop and got taffy (they had a taffy puller in the display window, it was taunting me). Met up with Kris and a friend of his since they were there that day as well. Aaaand yea, that's about it.

Pictures soon!

EDIT: Oh yea, and I just realized that I've already knocked off one of my life goals from that long list this summer. I'm hoping to knock off 2 more before getting back to NJ.

The impossible...

omg holy shit oh fuck omg wow fuckin amazing omg!!! So yea, I'm sure you're wondering why I'm flipping out. It just so happens that I was at the beach today, takin some really nice photos of the sunset with my point'n'shoot (didn't want to get my new camera sandy so I left it at home, BIG mistake) when someone asks me "Did you see the lightning down that way?" Now, those of you who know me well can only imagine what my reaction was. So yes. There was an AWESOME storm on the beach tonight. Strong winds, GORGEOUS lightning, and who leaves her new rebel at home? ME! Because the world couldn't possibly work in the favor of me getting a lightning photo, my camera battery on my powershot was dying. I could take photos, but when I turned on the rapid shutter, it would automatically shut off so I was going on reaction time, which sucks. So how many photos of the AMAZING lightning did I get? NONE!! Yes. BUT, it was still a really awesome storm and definitwly made my week. I rigged my towel up so that it acted like a sail and I could lean forward into the wind, it was pretty sweet, and there are pictures. So yes. And of course after that was dancing. What more could I possibly ask for in a day? Remembering my camera. That's what.

Am I too old?

Am I too old for a hip replacement? Whatever I did to it about 5 weeks ago seems to be getting worse. Danced yesterday and now I can only find one slightly painless position to sit in, which apparently doesn't look normal. I really have to stop injuring myself, it's become a bad habit.

read?

So I'm sitting here, programming in LabView, when I am overcome with a desire to blog. Can't really explain it, don't have much to say either. Maybe it's about time to pose a question to see how much I want/don't want to filter this. Does any aside from Bev, Stumpy, and Mommy Stumpy read this?

ees

I sailed the seven seas,
To find the best cheese,
When there was a sudden breeze,
Which knocked me to my knees.
I began to wheeze,
Afraid i would freeze,
But i caught sight of some trees,
Which i wanted to squeeze.
I got up with ease,
And asked to hug them, please,
Their response was "gees",
Only if you offer some peas.

please?

Nothing would make me happier than a hug right about now.
